Well it has been quite some time since we have done a podcast and I see it as my duty to inform you all why there has been such a delay with the podcasts these last four months. About four months ago I was diagnosed with a medical problem that has obstructed possibly every aspect of my life for the time I have had it. It is something where I want to come back and start the podcasts again, but with that being said there is no possible way I can do so until this problem is alleviated. Tomorrow (friday) I go into surgery at 10 am to remove two wounds, which if left alone, could lead to an infection and require even more surgery. I luckily caught the wounds early and everything should be fine. I will be put under general anesthesia while the ten minute surgery is done.

The doctors say it is a seven to ten day recovery time for this type of surgery and usually due to the amount of pain associated with the wounds I have there is usually relief by the second or third day. I can personally tell you that for three to four months my sleep has been affected as well as every other aspect. I am sorry that this affected my ability to do the podcast but I hope after I recover to be back with a new format for the podcast and hope you and the rest of our listeners will learn to forgive us for our absence. Believe me there is nothing more I want to do than return to the podcast as soon as possible. I cannot say when we will be back but I will say that it will be as soon as possible. We are hoping to return in two to three weeks but still have to see how the recovery goes before we can finally nail down a date.

More info will be posted soon but suffice it to say it involves a company that did not live up to it’s promises on computers purchased for review and a long arduous process of trying to get our money back. It’s really fun stuff and we’ll talk about it later but the biggest thing to announce is that we will be returning to the podcast this coming weekend (friday) for sure. We can not wait to get the podcast back on the road. See you then.

The podcast will be resuming next friday as long as things go as planned and the new computer gets here to replace the one that is currently on the fritz that is causing the audio problems. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do until this computer is replaced due to the severe audio issues as I stated last week. Unless something happens where the computer doesn’t arrive this next week the podcast should get back on track. See you then.

I know its been a while since we’ve had a podcast but we are still having issues with the audio problems. Like I stated before this problem sprang itself on us and caught us by surprise because of it. I can’t say when ill have the problem fixed or if we will even be able to get the next cast out this week but we’re hoping for the best. Believe me we would like nothing better than to get back to casting again without the hiccups. When the problem is fixed and we have nailed down a definitive date for the cast I will post an update. Sorry for all the issues in the past couple weeks but I promise, we will make it up to you all in the coming weeks ahead.

What I can talk a little bit about is that we have been working for quite some time to revamp the podcast format and going forward it will be very different than many people are used to. We are hoping that the new podcast format will give us the ability to seem more free-form and more laid back than the more structured format that we have been using since the beginning of the podcast. We will still do the news but we will start off with what is big the week of the podcast and go from there and where we end up at the end is where we end up instead of having to rush through the cast and trying to hit every point. It was a conscious decision made by myself and Ian that changes were needed in the format, all parties were involved in the process. Hopefully you will like the new format as much as we think you will.

We will be doing podcast 69 next week on monday due to me being out of town this weekend. Have a nice weekend and we’ll see you monday.

Starting monday we will once again be on a weekly podcast schedule. I have finally started to recover from the flu so we’ll see how it works out on the cast on monday. I just got back in from Disney World last night so expect the podcast within the next few days. However, there may be an issue with nailing down a date because I woke up with a fever and sore throat today so wish me luck. I am seeing the doctor tomorrow so ill update everyone when I know for sure about the next podcast.

Update: The podcast had to be rescheduled at the last minute due to scheduling issues but will be recorded and uploaded on friday sometime around 9pm EST. Sorry for the delay.

Update 2: Friday did not work either sadly and we’re going to have to see if we can get it done sometime Sunday. Ill update you when we have a set time.

Fixed the podcast link issues associated with people getting 404s on the podcast files. It should be fine now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We are going to have to delay the podcast at least a day or two until we can figure out a new day/time for the podcast due to the server migration issues. I’ll update you when that happens.

Seems as if the DNS has finally migrated and there should be no more issues due to the moving of the server. Also the podcasts have been completely uploaded to the server so there shouldn’t be anymore issues associated with files missing.
