The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, one of the most popular N64 games in existence, has been confirmed for VC. It’s coming out in Japan in February for 1,200 Wii Points so we should see it in either February or early March. It looks like the 1000 point standard price for N64 games is not set in stone.

In a recent Nintendo press release, Nintendo posted some very pleasing worldwide hardware/software sales numbers. Furthermore, predictions for the remainder of the fiscal year (which ends in March 2007) were also present.

Hardware and software sales:
Apr - Dec ‘06 / Apr - Dec ‘05 / Lifetime

Wii
Hardware:
3,190,000 / (none) / 3,190,000
Software:
17,510,000 / (none) / 17,510,000

It’s also been reported that Virtual Console sales were also very high, reaching the 1.5 million worldwide mark. The Big N still hope to acheive their 6 million Wiis by March goal, and judging by these numbers I’d say they have a good chance.

Now if only they could release a hefty number of Wiis in my area, then I’d be lovin’ life!

According to Xbox360Fanboy, the latest issue of the official Playstation Magazine is reporting that Capcom is indeed bringing Devil May Cry to the Xbox360. This is one of the most prevalent rumors on the net these days, but if this report is true, it could lend a ton of creedence to the rumor. Of course, rumor tag still, but the evidence is piling up. Also, if you take into account Capcom’s big success so far on MS’s new console, you have a pretty convincing argument.

Forza 2 hitting the track in May - Joystiq:

In a brief and somewhat enthusiastic e-mail, Microsoft has today announced that Forza Motorsport 2 is expected to come roaring out of the development pits in May, straight into the open arms of driving enthusiasts. It could get messy, but getting down to the nitty-gritty and tweaking speeding hunks of metal until they reach peak performance is what the game is all about.

Xbox 360 price cut “unlikely” in early 2007 - Joystiq:

While speaking to investors, Lazard Capital says a price cut on Xbox 360 hardware is “unlikely in early 2007.” However, they do believe a price reduction could come by the end of the year depending, of course, on the “competitive landscape.”

Ninja Theory’s Mike Ball recently commented on his experience developing for the PS3. He had this to say:

-”The PS3 hardware is a bit like a journey into the Marianas trench,”

-”There’s lots to explore and the deeper you get the more varied the life forms - sometimes horrific, sometimes beautiful.”
