NYT’s David Pogue: Wiimote Throwers Are Babies
Online, there are already gripes and legal threats regarding Wii-induced muscle aches, which is pretty much what you
’d expect from nerds who haven’t moved their bodies in years… I have equally little sympathy for [these] people…because they ignore the huge, on-screen warning that, before every game, advises you to move furniture out of the way.

PS2 to dominate 2007?
Regardless of where you stand, it’s undeniable that this year was pretty rough on Sony, especially after the price of the PS3 was announced at E3. However, Sony does have one beacon of hope left, the PS2.
Business Week predicts that the PS2 will outsell the next-gen (now current-gen) systems through 2007, and maybe even 2008. They’ve been quoted as saying: ”Despite all the hype surrounding the PS3, its predecessor is likely to outsell it for two more years … The PS2 probably has the capacity to sell more than any other gaming console.”
I’d say it’s plausible that PS2 can hold the fort until PS3 can get some killer-aps under it’s wing. Although I still believe PS3 will have a lot of catching up to do next year.

Xbox Live Crash? 12/26/06
Xbox Live has gone down across all games as of 7:00pm Central Time. So far there is no explanation for the crash.
Update 3: After 30 minutes of waiting on hold with customer service, we were told that the outage would continue until tomorrow morning. At first the operator tried to tell us that the outage was due to a Xbox Live update. Obviously an update would be something that is announced and not sprung on 4 million users at the drop of a hat. Let’s hope we can get some real answers soon.
