Developer Toys for Bob want gamers to experience the Star Control series on the Nintendo DS or PSP, but need the support of fans. If you’re interested in seeing the franchise revived on a portable platform, email their lead developer, Alex Ness. Only 1,000,000 letters are necessary to convince Activision to make their next game a Star Control game.

lol i think it’s just because they do not want to be set in stone to making a 3D game and would rather be able to make it in 2D without people complaining.
